Stage 2: Fundamental Stroke Development and Confidence Building

Stage 2 builds on the foundational skills acquired in Stage 1, focusing on the development of fundamental swimming strokes and enhancing water confidence. This stage emphasizes refining techniques and improving overall swimming ability.

Key Components of Stage 2:

  • Stroke Development: Participants are introduced to fundamental swimming strokes, including the front crawl and backstroke. They learn proper technique, such as arm movements, body positioning, and kicking, to achieve efficient and effective swimming.
  • Safety Skills Enhancement: Stage 2 continues to reinforce water safety principles, building on the knowledge gained in Stage 1. Participants practice safe entry and exit from the pool, understand how to recognize and respond to potential dangers, and learn more about emergency procedures.
  • Endurance and Confidence: To build endurance, participants engage in exercises designed to improve their swimming stamina. They practice swimming longer distances and performing various drills to boost their confidence in the water.

By the end of Stage 2, participants should be able to swim short distances using basic strokes, demonstrate improved endurance, and exhibit greater confidence in their swimming abilities.
